DIY Botanical Wall Art

Lately I have been going to tons of yard sales and thrift stores looking for things to make my house more homey. I stumbled upon a yard sales of a quilter, and found these botanical quilt squares. I had no idea what I would do with them, but knew I had to have them.

I knew I wanted to hang them on my wall so I decided to make these gorgeous wall hangings with them.

What you need:

  1. 1" x 10" board cut to 10" x 10" squares (1 10 x 10/piece)*

  2. gold tacks (4/piece)

  3. stain of your choice

  4. sawtooth hangers (1/piece)

Of course the quantity of each item depends on how many you plan to make, I made eight.

How to do it:

1. Cut your wood into 10 x 10 pieces*. I got the kind people of Lowe's to cut mine for me.

2. Stain your wood. You can use any stain color you like, I went with a darker stain because I have other items in my home that color. Let the stain dry completely before continuing to the next step.

3. Attach the sawtooth hangers to the back of your piece of wood so you can hang them on your wall.

4. Place the squares in the center of your piece of wood and hammer the tacks in place.

Now you just have to hang them up!

Now you have gorgeous wall hangings to make your house a little more homey.

*My quilt squares were 8" x 8" so I did 10 x 10 squares, add 2 inches to whatever the size of your quilt squares to get about an inch on each side of just wood.

You can also use paper prints for the same effect.
